White crystalline powder. Soluble in ether, ethanol, chloroform, hot benzene and caustic soda solution, slightly soluble in water, insoluble in ammonia and sodium bicarbonate solution. It is stable in the air, but it's indigo if mixed with ferric chloride solution. Melting point :83- 88 ℃, flash point: 163 ℃, density: 1.26 g/ ml.
